Seared scallops with orange glaze

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 pounds sea scallops, patted dry with paper towels (really important!)
  • 1+1/2 teaspoons ground peppercorn blend, or ground black pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1 de-seeded chilli pepper, minced
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 3/4 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon (packed) grated orange peel
  • a dash of Grand Marnier
